James Thorogood

Chief Executive Officer

James has worked with smallholder farmers in East Africa since 2016. He left an engineering career in Canada to help build an agri-tech startup in Kenya, where his mother was born. While testing new distribution models for farm inputs, James saw that small farms were chronically short of cash. He started Boresha while pursuing an MSc in Social Data Science at the University of Oxford, funded by a Rhodes Scholarship.
